Youth
Ministry (High School)
JUMMP Web Site
The
St Margaret Mary Parish Youth Ministry program is a joint program with St.
Joseph University and St. Patrick parishes. The
name of the program is JUMMP Youth Ministry, which is a combination of the
parish names (Joseph University Margaret Mary Patrick).
As a combined group, meetings are held
at the St. Patrick Moran Family Life Center.
Youth
Ministry provides opportunities to the high school youth of each parish to grow
in their faith by attending religious education classes on Sundays.
Social and service activities are
offered for young people on the parish level and in conjunction with other youth
groups in the Deanery in an effort to build community.
The youth of the parish are also
encouraged to attend and participate in Archdiocesan activities and at National
Conferences.
Confirmation is celebrated every other year within the Terre Haute Deanery, and
all Catholic high school students who are juniors or seniors are invited to
prepare and join in the celebration of this sacrament.
Parishioners help by being sponsors
and/or catechists for these candidates, through their prayerful support, and by
volunteering to help with the reception following the celebration of the
Sacrament.
Catechists/Small Group Leaders
Religious Education classes for high school youth are offered from September
thru May each year. Freshmen through
seniors meet on Sundays from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. Catechists meet with the Director
of Youth Ministry as needed.
